The Taylor Road Chorus has been around since the school opened in 1991. The Taylor Road Chorus has performed at the Southern Star Music Festival at Six Flags, Taylor Road Basketball Games, and the GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation. The TRMS Chorus also puts on quarterly concerts for the community. The TRMS choirs have consistently received all Excellent and Superior ratings at LGPE. Students from the Taylor Road Chorus have auditioned and been selected to participate in the Georgia All-State Chorus, the Georgia 6th grade Statewide Honor Chorus, and the American Choral Directors Association Southern Division Honor Choirs. TRMS Chorus students also participate in our GMEA District Honor Chorus annually.

Mr. Ryan Murphy is beginning his journey as the choral director at Taylor Road this year. Mr. Murphy received his Bachelor's of Music Education in Choral Music from Illinois State University in 2013 (Go 'Birds!) and his Master's of Music Education from Florida State University in 2021 (Go 'Noles!). As he joins Taylor Road, Mr. Murphy looks forward to getting to know each of the students of the choir program, as well as teaching students in General Music classes to learn to skills. He will also serve as the musical director for the annual school musical. Mr. Murphy is originally from the suburbs of Chicago, and has been married to his amazing wife, Lauren, since they moved to Atlanta in 2013. They are expecting their first child (a baby girl!) this November. Mr. Murphy loves reading, learning about movie trivia, and travelling abroad.
